USED MAGIC POLICY 

Everyday we get calls from people wanting to sell us their used magic, unfortunately we cannot purchase everything that is offered to us, the market for magic is very small, and the market for used magic is even smaller.

From time to time we will purchase used magic, if we feel there may be a market for the item.

So to answer the question 'Do you buy used magic?'

YES!! We buy your GOOD quality used magic, BUT we do not buy all magic items !

We pay up to 35% of the current retail price.  Depending on the item.
If we are stocked on the item already or do not feel we need it, we may decline to purchase.
Please do not call us (as many of you have) saying "Your website says you will give me 35% of the price"
it clearly states 'up to 35%'

For example: You purchased an item for $200 retail, and now want to sell it to us:
The item is new in box hardly used - our offer might be 35% or $70
The item has been used, but still functional and complete - our offer might be 25% or $50
The item is heavily used - our offer might be 15% or $30

DVD's:

DVD's must be unscratched in their original cases.
NO burnt or pirated DVD's will be accepted.
Gaffs or props originally included must be with the DVD.

As DVD's are easily copied we generally purchase DVD's at 10%-15% of retail.

OLD Stage props:
(there is a difference between antique and OLD)

Rusty props, heavily soiled items or anything in need of repair (no matter how minor) will rarely be accepted.

Just because a new prop today of a similar name may sell for several thousand dollars, this does not mean that your 1950's repainted worn out, home-made and broken version is worth anything close to that, large props can take years to sell and have generally been sitting in musty basement and garages for years; as such be prepared for a much lower offer than you might expect.
Email us first, and give us an idea what you are expecting to get for your item.
 We will give you an approximate price.
Don't be insulted, we are not trying to 'rip you off', that is just the price we are willing to pay - we also know it is probably the only offer you have had, but you don't have to accept it, approach another magic shop and see what they will give you, try Kijiji or Ebay.
You will get more money selling if privately than to us.

If you want a better offer:
-clean it up and remove all rust, dust and dirt
- test it, make sure it functions and is complete in all aspects
- typed instructions (preferably original) should be included

PLEASE, do not approach us saying - 'it just needs this fixing' or 'if you clean it up, it will easily sell'

Tricks:

Must be in good condition, in their original packaging if possible.
Original instructions must be included.
Absolutely no photo copies.

Books:

A book's condition should be readable without markings or water damage.
Books with yellowed edges, musty books or bookworms will not be accepted.

Items must be delivered to the store, no used magic will be purchased sight unseen.

Retail price is based on our retail price, not a competitor's.

Consignment items are a 50/50 split of the sale price.
